Remember this? With nothing to lose except some time and perhaps any requests to ever do portraiture, I dove in to finish this.
I am annoyed that I began painting the boy before I evaluated his placement on the canvas. Other than that major composition error, I am happy with the painting.
I think his mom would be happy with it.

You asked “Is this little boy finished?” The features on his face don’t look very clear to me. And I assume he is holding a shovel? This doesn’t look like your usual detailed work. But I guess if his mother is happy with it, that is what matters!
Marjie, as always, I agree with your honest assessment. The features on his face aren’t clear because they are invisible in the photo. If I try to make them up, it will become the wrong child! And I guess that’s a shovel. . .
