Mineral King Show Coming Soon

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANN!

June 30 will be here quickly. That is the date for the Mineral King art show that I will be participating in with 3 other artists at the Silver City Store.

Heat will be here quickly too, so I need to finish these oil paintings before it is time to turn on the swamp cooler and swat mosquitoes while painting.

Sawtooth, enough for now.
Farewell Gap at the beginning of a painting of the end of summer.
Farewell Gap looking better.
Better yet. . .
Farewell Gap finished?
Timber Gap with lupine, finished?
Eagle Lake, begun
Eagle Lake, more work ahead.

These are my painting companions.

Three little buddies.

  1. Jana, the kittens are darling! I bet they are so much fun to watch. Loved the pics of the beautiful flowers in your yard in one of your other posts too and also the pics of the dogwoods. Mom and Dad had some dogwood trees when they lived in Missouri. Was always a treat to see them in bloom. Hope you guys enjoy your upcoming Mineral King days!

    • Cheryl, thank you for checking in! I bet you already know this: the dogwood is the state flower of Missouri. Wait – it is the state tree, I think! When I painted a mural for someone last year of his family’s humble beginnings in Missouri, I learned this. Also, the bluebird is the state bird – both beautiful favorites of mine. And the kittens are adorable, but they are a handful for sure. I’m learning that I prefer cats to kittens.
