An Odd Job | Bearly Working

I forgot to warn Trail Guy that there was a bear in the workshop and thus, it startled him. The cats were fine with it.

He had some spots—bird droppings? dust on his feet? —that I really noticed when I set him on the table to begin painting.

Since these customers (very close friends, actually) overpaid me drastically the last time I worked on a bear for them, I felt compelled to do an even more careful job on this one.

It was a sunny, hot, and breezy day, so I moved Mr. Bear outside and hosed him down.

Not really knowing how to enhance the bear, I welcomed the time to allow him to dry. The customers provided me with a colored photo from a catalog that sells similar objet d’art. That is French lingo for “an object of some artistic merit”. Not gonna pronounce it.

I am enjoying the variety of work these days. Beats the computer stuff, fer sartin and fer sher.

  1. The bear is so cute! That seems like a fun kind of project, and satisfying to see it go back to looking like new.

    • Michelle, my friends were very happy and overpaid me extravagantly!
