Rhyme Time

Or is that Rhyme Thyme? or rime time?

STOP IT.

Because my friend Cheryl Barker does Summer Photo fun on her blog, and I am a monkey-see-monkey-do copyist, I will engage in my own little brand of summer photo fun for your entertainment.

Worm Squirm

Are you kidding me? That is so gross!

Yeah, I know. They are all over the shrubs in Mineral King this summer.

Stuck Buck

What do you mean “stuck”?

He wasn’t moving. It was cold. Maybe he was scared.

Cute Boot

You’ve got to be kidding!

No, they are cute. I’m not talking about the Franken-foot but the boot. They have pink accents on them.

Fern Burn

What is this about?

It got really cold in June and the ferns got frost-bitten.

Thin Skin

Skin??

That’s “Bear Skin”, a snow patch on the side of Vandever Mt. which is the right half of Farewell Gap.

Where do you come up with this stuff?

On long hikes. Michael (Trail Guy) makes good coffee and my brain kicks into over-drive.

No more caffeine for you, Young Lady!

I’m fifty-two!

  1. Thanks, Jana, for the shout-out! Photo Fun is always a neat change of pace, huh?

  2. Melissa, Michael doesn’t know what they are but suspects tussock moth.

Diane, it is the strong french roast from Costco, which I drink sort of weak but black. Since I only drink it in MK, it HITS me!

  3. … and this is only Tuesday. I can imagine what your postings will be for the balance of the week. I do find the ‘worm squirm’ most fascinating! Will Michael share his coffee recipe?

  4. The worm things are gross!!! I hope they go away soon and don’t hatch into some tree eating thing. Ask Michael!!
    Hugs and Love,
    Melissa

  5. Jenna, it worries me a bit. I hope we aren’t going to have a horrible invasion of the tussock moth like the main parts of Sequoia/Kings had about a dozen years ago! So far I haven’t heard anything about the caterpillars. . .

  6. What’s with the worms? That looks worrisome.

  7. Jennifer, Deal! You coming to California? I bet everyone will be asking if we are sisters when/if you do get here! (or maybe they will ask if you are my daughter. . . )

  8. Jana,

I grinned at your rhyming titles. I think Michael the Trail Guy should make us both a cup of good coffee and we can sit and talk for a few hours. Deal?
