Walking in Three Rivers in February

One bright February afternoon, I took a walk in Three Rivers with my friend in Texas. We were on the phone together for the entire 3.5 miles, catching up on many topics, and sending photos back and forth. These are the pictures I sent to her (and a few extras).

I love February.

  1. Beautiful photos of the upcoming spring (less than a month away)! It’s fun to see snow-capped mountains in the background with green grass and budding trees in the foreground. However, I will let you enjoy the mushrooms; I’m not a fan of fungus.

How fun to walk “together” with your friend. I’m glad your battery and cell phone coverage lasted for the entire hike!

    • Sharon, it was a real treat. I was glad I didn’t encounter other folks while walking, because I’ve always thought it was weird that people couldn’t just be alone, and with that aloneness, be available to greet and chat with others they encounter.

      • I forgot to ask–did you chat via Skype so you can see what each other is looking at? It’s a battery hog, but might be fun for your friend to see the views that you’re seeing on the path ahead.

Alone is good, but chatting with others is good, too. We need both!

        • I just took photos as I walked and texted them to her. Since she used to live in 3R, it was particularly interesting to her.

      • I’m with you Jana! February is my favorite month here in the valley. The temps are still cool, but everything is this wonderful cheery green, trees are blooming and my bulbs are pushing thru. Snow in the sierras. Lovely:)
