I love the beach. Any beach. All beaches. While in Oregon, my sister and I had a day to go to the beach, so we went to 2 beaches and one lighthouse.
Beach #1
We had the address of some old friends from Visalia and decided to surprise them. This is the road that led to their place, but alas, they weren’t home. We poked a business card in the door and headed to the beach.

Tomorrow: the lighthouse

The sea weed on the rocks looks like the rocks were having a bad hair day.
Greasy kid stuff, perhaps?
Beautiful! The seaweed on the rocks reminds me of hair – they could be little creatures!
Michelle, creepy hair on creepy creatures is just how it looks to me. But you could turn it into something cute, because you have that knack!
The Yachats lighthouse is stunningly beautiful! My first visit was back in 1971, and I wish I could find the photo I took back then. No digital versions available back then, so it’s probably in one of many photo albums I have. Some day. . . .
Sharon, Yachats is now on my list for my next trip to Oregon.

There is something so calming and peaceful about the ocean. Just sitting and watching/listening to the waves roll in and out washes away all stress.
I’m looking forward to the lighthouse photo(s) tomorrow. My father loved lighthouses, so they hold a special place in my heart . . . in his memory.
I love lighthouses. Just like bridges, they are the perfect blend of architecture and nature.
Yes, there is something about a beach – the ocean front. But there is something extra special about the beaches in Northern California and Oregon that are uniquely special. Ask your sister if she has ever been to Yachats, Oregon. This was Judy’s – and now mine – favorite beach.
Ben
Ben, I think I will put Yachats on my list for next year’s Oregon visit. Thank you!
