Today is just photos of a fall afternoon in mid-October in Mineral King.

Tomorrow, a walk up to Franklin Creek, the final Mineral King report for the year.

I’ve been feeling tired and overwhelmed this week (a busy few weeks + a lot of loose ends in life) and I want to jump through this screen and spend a week in front of a roaring fire in an isolated cabin in Mineral King! It looks like such a beautiful place and a wonderful spot to retreat to in order to escape the busy hustle of everyday life.
Elisabeth, in theory, yes. In reality, closing weekend is messy. And during the summer, I have to go home if I need peace and quiet. EVERYONE stops by our cabin to say hello. Wears me out. I can be alone briefly on the trails, but usually run into people I know or visitors who need a little guidance. Not complaining, just explaining. And I fully understand why your are tired and overwhelmed—dang, you need a vacation!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos! I never tire of pictures of Mineral King.
Happy October birthday! I don’t recall the day so I hope the entire month is a celebration!
Anne, you and I are birthday twins, but I wasn’t where I could wish you a happy day. So glad you are enjoying the MK photos, and Happy Birth Month!
Beautiful Jana!!
Tom and Linda, Sorry to have missed you, hope you had a spectacular family wedding, and glad you didn’t have to deal with the snow!
Do I see a bit of snow still hanging in there on the bear patch? That doesn’t happen every year!
Were you up when the snow storm hit on Tuesday? I bet there were some beautiful scenes on Wednesday!
Sharon, we left ahead of the storm on Monday. And yes, snow was on BearSKIN (teeheehee) already when we arrived on Friday.
