Let’s review. I really liked this painting, but no one was willing to give me green pieces of paper with dead presidents’ faces on it in exchange. So, after going through some photos and thinking about my current inventory, I decided to grow a big oak tree on the canvas.

Jackson required some attention. He had a lot to say, but he wasn’t commenting on the painting.

Am I finished? Or shall I add some leaves?
More will be revealed in the fullness of time.

I think this is my favourite transformation I’ve seen yet. They’re two different paintings and the evolution from one to the other is fascinating!
(I loved the original, but will admit I love the new iteration even more!)
Thank you, Elisabeth! It is a little distracting to see the old painting beneath instead of starting on a white canvas. The thing that allows me to do this without feeling awful is that I have scanned the previous painting, so it still exists, if only virtually.
The tree is very cool! It’s amazing to watch the original painting metamorphose into something completely different. Awww, Jackson!
Thank you, Michelle! And Jackson is a jagged little pill, but I love him anyway.
