Thanks for your opinion, Jennifer. Seems there needs to be contrast of color and texture and shapes for the poppies to really show up well.

Art life this week is more like business than art-making. That’s the nature of self-employment when I don’t have “people”!

The rocks dispersed throughout do make it easier to see the poppies too, for some reason. Lovely. I notice the downward slant of the hill too, and the blades of grass in the front.

Thanks for stopping by my site. Yes, that grabbed my attention too –seeing God give us gift ideas. It made me think and smile.

Katie, thank you so much for your kind comment! It used to make me embarrassed when my friends bought my work – now I am profoundly appreciative. And you do have one of the best pieces I’ve ever ever painted – I poured my heart into that Snowy Sequoia! Thank you again for sharing the link. ‘Just wanted to share that our step-Mom, Juanita, loved the Post Office painting, remarking how you’ve improved over the years. She has several of your works, already. She’s one of the Pierce family, (now Tolle), and grew up in 3R. She has a cabin on North Fork, and shares parts of the original ranch with her cousins, notably the old ranch house and barn at the confluence.
